It’s spring time guys and spring time means the sun and the warm weather is coming again.
So we can finally leave the big and bulky clothes at home and go with a fresh spring style.
What is the most important part of a good and fresh outfit for the warm weather? The shoes.
And while boots are my favorite type of shoe, they just aren’t suited for the warm weather.
That’s why today, we are going to talk about the best men’s shoes for spring and summer.
What Men’s Shoes For Spring and Summer
The optimal shoes for spring and summer should be comfortable, lightweight, versatile and of course, stylish.
The sneaker is the best option for that.
It is light, it is comfortable and if you do it right, it can look really good.
I know, I know. Many of the so-called style experts want to tell you that you should avoid sneakers at all costs and the only acceptable shoe is a super dressy old school shoe.
But not everybody who is reading this is a 40+ year-old guy who likes this conservative style.
Most of the readers are young dudes who just want to look good, feel good and attract a lot of young women.
Besides, sneakers can look really good. They give you this cocky, highly energetic look of youth and confidence that people of all age groups really dig.
On top of that, sneakers can be super comfortable and they weigh next to nothing, especially if you compare it to any dressy shoe that has a heel.
There are only a couple of rules that you have to keep in mind in order to not look like an amateur high-school gangster who is trying too hard to look like he has swag.
Rules For Wearing Sneakers
There are certain rules that always apply when it comes to style and thus also to sneakers: Keep it simple and watch the fit.
You should avoid the newest high-fashion basketball sneakers. Never buy any shoes with crazy neon colorways or pictures. Never buy crazy futuristic looking shoes.
On the flip side, you shouldn’t buy old-fashioned ugly sneakers that you only see clueless dads wearing.

Stick to simple sneakers. Classic colors like white, grey and black will always look good. Especially white is my favorite color for sneakers as it fits everything and looks super cool.
The next thing you have to keep in mind is the fit of the sneakers. No, I don’t mean that they should fit your feet, that should be obvious.
I mean that your shoes should fit just as good, as your jeans fit your legs and your shirts your upper body.
That means that your shoes should compliment the natural shape of your foot and be rather slim and aerodynamic if that makes sense. Just like a modern car. Aesthetically pleasing to the eye with nice shapes and curves.
Do not buy bulky sneakers that look like they are glued to your feet. They only make you look immature and shorter.
And last but not least: Take good care of your sneakers!
Do not run around with dirty damaged shoes. Keep ’em clean.
Don’t be paranoid about it, but be a bit careful when you walk around and think before you go out.
If the weather is like shit and it rains like crazy, don’t go out wearing your new all-white sneakers.
Clean them regularly and use water protect sprays like the popular Crep Protect.
What Is The Best Men’s Sneaker For Spring and Summer?
Now let’s get to the fun part. Which sneakers look good and what are the ones that you should wear?
There is not really one sneaker that is the best and fits every occasion.
There are a lot of different sneakers out there that all look good and are very versatile.
You have a lot of options: Adidas, Nikes, Jordans, Vans, Chucks … Just make sure you pick versatile shoes that you like and that are comfortable to you.
Here are some of the sneakers that I can recommend. Some of these are very popular right now and some are timeless classics.
You won’t go wrong with any of these.
Adidas Ultra Boost
The Adidas Ultra Boost shoes are extremely hyped right now and not for nothing. They are a super comfortable, light-weight shoe that looks really cool.
The Adidas Boost Technology is really unique and gives you this extremely comfortable, squishy, walking-on-air type of feeling.
But there is a catch. With $180 at retail price, they are pretty expensive for a regular sneaker and you will also have a hard time finding these as they are sold out most of the time.
If you decide to get the Adidas Ultra Boost, I especially recommend the triple white colorway. The others look kinda standard running shoe to me and aren’t really worth the price in my opinion, regardless of the comfort.
Cheap Adidas Ultra Boost Alternatives
If you find the Ultra Boost too expensive, you can alternatively go with the newly released Adidas Pure Boost, a cheaper version of the Ultra Boost that looks more like a lifestyle sneaker than a running shoe.
I personally own these and they are at least as comfortable and stylish as the Ultra Boost.
If you want to keep it simple and clean, you can also go with the classic Adidas Stan Smith Sneaker for spring and summer.
Nike Free RN and Nike Free RN Flyknit
Nike has some awesome looking sneakers to choose from as well.
One of my favorites is the Nike Free RN and the Nike Free Flyknit.
Those shoes not only look good but they are super comfortable because of their minimalist design. They are designed to mimic minimalist barefoot running and thus the sole is extremely flexible.
You will feel really free in these shoes. They are so light, it’s as if you don’t even wear shoes.
The Free RN Flyknit version is even more minimalist and looks a lot sportier in my opinion.
They might also not hold up to rain and bad weather as well due to the Flyknit upper material, so keep that in mind before buying.
Nike Roshe One
The Nike Roshe Ones are really popular right now.
These are pretty standard simple shoes but they look good with almost any outfit.
And with a retail price of 80$ (mostly even cheaper on sale) they are pretty cheap compared to other sneakers on this list.
Vans Sneakers (Old Skool and Skate Highs)
Vans are classic shoes that stood the test of time. They have been worn for years and will continue to do so.
Vans never really were my personal favorite sneaker but they can look pretty cool on some outfits, especially in comparison to some of the new mainstream sneaker and regarding the cheap price tag.
I can only really recommend simple black or white Old Skool Vans or Skate Highs.
White Converse Chucks
Not everybody can pull off Chucks but for most men, they should be a staple in your wardrobe.
If you are the right type of guy, then Chucks will look really awesome on you and can be easily paired with nice casual outfits.
They project this image of a cocky, funny guy that women love.
Again, there is no need for crazy colors or patterns. I can only really recommend simple white chucks and I would go with high-tops.
These look even better when they are a little worn in so you don’t need to be too careful with these.
Nike Air Jordans
Jordans are a difficult topic.
If you don’t necessarily want to look like a basketball player or a 14-year old sneaker fanboy, then you should probably avoid Jordans.
Especially the newer models look way too overboard and crazy for me. Nothing anybody should ever just casually wear when going out.
But there is a certain Jordan model that I can still recommend and these are the classic Retro Jordan 1’s.
Those sneakers can look really cool with the right outfit and I own a pair or two as well.
You have to be the right guy to pull those off though. Otherwise, they will make you look shorter and bulkier than you actually are.
As always, every piece of clothing is very personal. While one shoe can look good on one person, it just looks wrong on the other.
So try them on and maybe get an unbiased opinion from people you trust who have good style.
Again, stick to simple colors and don’t go overboard.
Jordans are a little bit of a heavier type of shoe, so I wouldn’t wear those in the hottest days of summer but rather during springtime.
Dressed Up Shoes For Spring and Summer
Listen, I know. Not every man can wear sneakers and definitely not every man should wear sneakers.
If you are an older guy, you probably shouldn’t wear sneakers that often.
Of course, even older guys can rock sneakers if you do it right but it does not fit on many occasions.
On top of that, sneakers really aren’t anything you can wear to formal events and you shouldn’t.
I have to say, I am not really the biggest fan of many of the shoes that are recommended for men for spring and summer. In my opinion, they look really old-fashioned and uptight.
I just wear boots and dress shoes if I need to dress up, as you shouldn’t wear shorts when going to formal night type events anyway.
Still, here are some of the dressier shoes that I recommend for the spring and summertime.
Driving Loafers
I am not too keen on loafers but if you want to go with a dressier casual shoe and choose loafers, I recommend driving loafers.
These can look really stylish if the rest of your outfit is on point and matches the vibe of driving loafers.
I often get the vibe of a rich yacht owner when I see these shoes, which isn’t bad.
Below are some inspirations if you want to go with the driving loafer style.

White Suede Bucks
The white suede buck is the perfect dressier alternative for sneakers in my opinion. It looks way dressier but can still look very casual.
It can be dressed down and dressed up very easily and fits most outfits as they are white.
And as you know, I prefer white sneakers as well because they are so damn versatile and look good.
Give those a try if you want to look a little bit dressier.
So, Which Shoes Should Men Wear In Spring and Summer?
I get it. Most of the younger guys reading this article won’t get these type of shoes and rather go for more of the mainstream sneakers.
And this is perfectly fine. When you are younger, those shoes simply don’t fit you and nobody will say something against you if you wear fashion sneakers except maybe stifled “fashion experts”.
Don’t listen to anybody that tells you, you can’t wear sneakers because they are for little boys.
At the end of the day, you should wear what you like.
What you should avoid at all costs though, are sneakers that look like old-school running shoes or some crazy future looking shoes.
You can also easily find cheap no-name sneakers in shoe stores that can look good. As I said, just keep them clean, simple, with a nice silhouette and they will look good. Price and brand do not matter.
You don’t need the newest mainstream sneaker especially not if you are broke or your focus is on different things like investing all your money in your business.
If you want to, you can pick up hot chicks even with the trashiest outfits. It’s all about your charisma and the way you interact with people.
That’s no excuse to look and dress like shit though. Most people judge you on your appearance, so you will have an easier time if you look good and dress well. You will also just feel better and more confident.
Now go get yourself cool shoes and enjoy the good weather!
